Chef Schwartz Sets Sail at the Boat House

With over a decade of restaurant experience, Chef David Schwartz brings his culinary expertise to the Boathouse kitchen. Moving back closer to his roots, Chef Schwartz joins us from Formento’s in Chicago’s West Loop.

His background ranges from high-end fine dining to fast-casual and high-volume establishments. Notably, his Italian cooking background flourished under Jonathon Fox, owner of Osteria La Madia in Chicago, shaping his love for pasta making. Chef Schwartz held pivotal kitchen roles, helping to retain a Michelin Bib Gourmand at The Bristol in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood. His culinary journey includes internships at a number of renowned Chicago restaurants, including Alinea.

Chef Schwartz is eager to evolve the Boathouse’s menu of seafood, fish, sandwiches, and shareables—continuing to make the Boathouse the perfect destination for year-round relaxation.
